Gallup has been named America’s most Patriotic Small Town by map and atlas publisher Rand McNally. The area has a rich history of acknowledging the heroic contributions of diverse cultures.
We are the home of the WWII Navajo Code Talkers and Korean War Medal of Honor Recipient Mr. Hershey Miyamura as well as surviving members of the Bataan Death March and what later became known as "Battling Bastards of Bataan", officially known as The 442nd. Modern Gallup is friendly to the veterans who have served our country in recent conflicts and features Vet-Friendly hotels among their amenities.
Gallup was voted "America's Most Patriotic Small Town" by Rand McNally in 2013 and 2014. We are proud of all those that have served within our Nation's armed forces and look forward to honoring the future generations of patriots from our community. The stops along this tour include opportunities to pay respects to veterans past, celebrate military history, and share your own experience or remember a loved one.
