Learn the fundamental skills needed to explore design and engineering through activities that
utilize OFPL’s MakerSpace machines and equipment.
● July 1st – 3D Printers
Master the machine in this hands-on introduction to the world of 3D printing. You’ll learn
the essential "shop skills" of a maker, including how to load and unload filament, level
the bed, and safely start a print. We will also dive into slicer software, where you’ll learn
how to prepare a digital file for the physical world by mastering critical settings like
supports and bed adhesion.
● July 15th – Laser Engraver
Turn digital designs into custom creations in this hands-on introduction to OFPL’s laser
engraver. Participants will learn the essential skills needed to safely prepare, place, and
engrave materials while exploring how the laser can cut, mark, and personalize projects.
From design setup to machine settings, this workshop will show how artwork, text, and
ideas can become one-of-a-kind objects using MakerSpace technology.
